This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and shall be known as the "Games of Chance Ordinance of the City of Hornell."
A. 
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meanings as such words and terms used in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, unless otherwise provided herein or unless the context requires a different meaning.
B. 
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CITY
The City of Hornell.
OFFICER
The chief law enforcement officer of the City of Hornell.
Games of chance may be conducted in the city by an authorized organization after obtaining a license therefor in accordance with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
The conduct of games of chance on Sundays is authorized, except as otherwise restricted in Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law.
