[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Meeting of the Town of Colchester 8-4-1904. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The town voted to accept the library site and building conveyed by Dr. E. B. Cragin, under a deed of gift for the uses of inhabitants of the Town of Colchester, and said Cragin Memorial Library is hereby established and constituted the free public library of the Town of Colchester. Further $300 shall be and the same is hereby appropriated out of funds in the hands of the Treasurer of the Town of Colchester for the uses of the free public library in said town, and said Treasurer is hereby directed to pay such money to any person authorized by the Trustees of the Cragin Memorial Library to receive same, the same to be paid on or before March 1, 1905.
Following the public library bylaws, the Town Treasurer of the Town of Colchester is directed to pay annually thereafter, to any person authorized by the Trustees of the Cragin Memorial Library to receive the same, the sum of $300, so long as said Trustees shall maintain a public library free to the inhabitants of said town.
