As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CISTERN
An artificial reservoir for the storing of liquids, especially water, or an underground tank for the storing of rainwater.
DRY WELL
A hole made in porous ground and filled with gravel or rubble to receive water (as drainage from a roof) and allow it to percolate.
All cisterns or dry wells located within the Borough of Beach Haven shall be covered with a metal grate or lid securely fastened to the cistern or dry well so as to prevent accidental entrapment of animals or human beings.
