PERSONAL PROPERTY
All property other than land and real estate owned by the Town of Groton.
Any board or officer in charge of a department of the Town may, with the approval of the Town Manager, sell any personal property of the Town, which is within the possession or control of the department and has become obsolete or is not required for further use by the department or, may trade the same in part payment for replacements for which funds have been provided, after public notice.

The Select Board members are authorized and empowered to sell, transfer and convey, at public auction or private sale, such land and real estate as the Town now holds or may thereafter acquire by foreclosure by the Town under sales by the Treasurer by virtue of the provisions of MGL C. 60, §§ 79 and 80, and to sign, execute and deliver in the name of the Town proper deeds of conveyance or release thereof.
