The Board shall be comprised of five regular members and four associate members, as appointed by the Select Board.
At the first regular meeting following the qualification of annual appointee(s), the Board shall elect a Chairperson and a Clerk. Associates shall not participate in this election.
A. 
The Chairperson or designee shall have the following powers and duties:
(1) 
Presiding over all hearings and meetings of the Board.
(2) 
Deciding all points of order, subject to the rules herein stated, unless overruled by a majority of the Board in session at the time.
(3) 
Appointing such committees as may be necessary or desirable.
B. 
In addition, the Chairperson shall exercise general supervision over the Board's activities and the tasks performed by the Board's Zoning Coordinator, including but not limited to:
(1) 
Correspondence
(2) 
Sending all required notices.
(3) 
Receipt and scrutiny of all petitions and applications for formal compliance with the rules of the Board.
(4) 
Dockets and minutes of the Board's proceedings.
(5) 
Compilation of required records.
(6) 
Maintenance of files and indexes.
(7) 
Calling of the roll at all Board meetings.
The Clerk will assume the duties of Chairperson in the event of his/her absence.

Any member of the Board who must be absent shall notify the Zoning Coordinator or designate an associate member to sit on the Board for the duration of his/her absence, inability to act or interest on the part of a member. In the event of a vacancy on the Board, the Chairperson shall designate an associate member to act as a member until the vacancy is filled by an appointment by the Select Board.
A quorum for a hearing shall consist of four members or associate members. A quorum of a business meeting shall consist of five members, three of whom are regular members.
Regular meetings of the Board shall be held as necessary at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall or at such times and places as the Board may designate. A schedule of meetings, dates, times, and locations will be on file with the Town Clerk and posted conspicuously in the Town Hall.
Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson or at the request of two members. Written notice thereof shall be given to each member at least 48 hours before the time set, except that announcement of a special meeting at any meeting attended by all members shall be sufficient notice. Notices shall be posted publicly as required by law.
