[Adopted 9-7-1967 as § 13-2 of the Revised General Ordinances]
At any fire the Chief of the Fire Department or other person in command shall establish fire lines which shall be maintained by members of the Police Department by stretching ropes or as otherwise directed by the Chief or other person in charge. It shall be the duty of the police to exclude from the streets and sidewalks within the established fire lines all vehicles and all persons except City officials or employees occupied in the discharge of their duties, or such persons as have been authorized to enter the lines by written permission of the Director of Public Safety or by the Fire Chief or other person in command.
No person shall in any way impede access to any fire or its vicinity, interfere with the use of any apparatus, hinder any official or employee of the City in the discharge of his/her duties at any fire, pass through any fire line unless properly authorized to do so or otherwise impede the work of extinguishing fires or protecting lives and property.
Any person who violates any provision of this article shall, upon conviction, be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty, for each and every offense.
