Any person violating any order of the Housing Inspector based on the provisions of this chapter or any provision of any rule or regulation adopted by the Division of Housing for the enforcement or implementation of this chapter, or violating any provision of this chapter or any provision of such rule or regulation shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalty prescribed in Chapter 1, Article III, General Penalty, of the Code of the City of Trenton.
After conviction and punishment for violation of an order of the Housing Inspector based upon the provisions of this chapter or any provision of any rule or regulation adopted by the Division of Housing for the enforcement or implementation of this chapter, if the person shall continue in violation of the order, then the person shall be liable for further prosecution, conviction and punishment upon the same order, without any necessity of the Housing Inspector issuing a new order, until the order has been complied with.
In the event of the imposition of a fine or penalty by the Municipal Court or any other court of competent jurisdiction against the owner or operator of any dwelling for violation of this chapter, the fee or penalty shall be collectible as a lien against the premises and, in addition thereto, shall be collectible pursuant to the procedures for the appointment of a receiver as set forth in Article XIII hereof, in addition to any other remedies now provided by law.
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed or interpreted to in any way impair or limit the authority of the Housing Inspector to define and declare nuisances and to cause the removal or abatement of nuisances by appropriate proceedings provided by law.
