The owner or owners, occupant or occupants, tenant or tenants of premises abutting or bordering upon any street in the City shall remove all snow and ice from the abutting sidewalks of such streets or, in the case of ice which may be so frozen as to make removal impracticable, shall cause the same to be thoroughly covered with sand or ashes, within 12 daylight hours after the same shall fall or be formed thereon.
It shall be unlawful to shovel, plow or blow snow from the sidewalk into the abutting street or public alley and/or beyond the curbline. Snow removed from the sidewalk must be piled up at the curbline on the sidewalk, effecting a suitable and safe path for pedestrian crossing.
The term "owner" as used in this article shall not apply to the City of Trenton with respect to property obtained by the City through foreclosure.
