A. 
Any person found to be violating any provision of these rules and regulations shall be served by the town with notice stating the nature of the violation and providing a reasonable time limit for the satisfactory correction thereof. The offender shall, within the period of time stated in such notice, permanently cease all violations.
B. 
A city, town or sewer district may, from time to time, prescribe rules and regulations regarding the use of common sewers (MGL c.83, § 10, as amended by St. 1987, c. 174, § 7A) to prevent the entrance or discharge therein of any substance which may tend to interfere with the flow of sewage or the proper operation of the sewerage system and the treatment and disposal works, for the connection of estates and buildings with sewers, for the construction, alteration, and use of all connections entering into such sewers, and for the inspection of all materials used therein; and may prescribe civil penalties, not exceeding $5,000 for each day of violation of any such rule or regulation.
C. 
In addition to the penalties provided herein, the Town of Barre may recover reasonable attorneys' fees, court costs, court reporters' fees and other expenses of litigation by appropriate suit at law against the person found to have violated these rules and regulations or the orders, rules, regulations, and permits issued hereunder.
Any person who knowingly makes any false statements, representation or certification in any application, record, report, plan or other document filed or required to be maintained pursuant to these rules and regulations, or wastewater contribution permit, or who falsifies, tampers with, or knowingly renders inaccurate any monitoring device or method required under these rules and regulations, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less then $100 or more than $1,000.
