This chapter shall modify and supersede § 133 of the Town Law, being Chapter 634 of the Laws of 1932, entitled "An act relating to towns constituting Chapter 62 of the Consolidated Laws," as amended, to read as set forth in § 58-2 hereof.
Every ordinance and every amendment to an ordinance hereafter adopted or approved by the Town Board of the Town of Niagara to which the provisions of Article 9 of the Town Law are applicable shall be entered in its minutes and a summary describing the subject of such ordinance published in a newspaper published in the town, if any, or in such newspaper published in Niagara County having a circulation in the Town of Niagara, as the Town Board may designate, once and a printed copy of such ordinance or amendment posted on the signboard maintained by the Town Clerk pursuant to Subdivision 6 of § 30 of the Town Law, and affidavits of such publication and posting shall be filed with the Town Clerk. Such ordinance or amendment shall take effect 10 days after such publication and posting, but such ordinance or amendment shall take effect from the date of its service as against a person served personally with a copy thereof, certified by the Town Clerk under the corporate seal of the town, and showing the date of its passage and entry in the minutes. The Town Clerk shall furnish a copy of such ordinance to any elector of the Town of Niagara requesting a copy thereof prior to its effective date.
