The Town election shall be held on the first Tuesday of April every year.

The polling places are as follows:
A. 
Wards 2, 3, 4 and 5: Vernon Town Hall, W249 S8910 Center Drive.
B. 
Wards 1, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10: Fire Station No. 3, W233 S7475 Woodland Lane.

At each polling place there shall be a maximum of nine election inspectors.
The polls in the Town shall open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.

The terms of elected town officers which shall expire after 11:59 p.m. on the second Monday of April in April 2013 shall be extended until the third Tuesday of April in the same year in which the terms would otherwise have expired.

A. 
There may be two shifts for election workers on all election days. The first shift shall commence at 6:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. The second shift shall commence at 1:00 p.m. and will end with the completion of all required Election Day duties that follow the closure of the polls. Election workers may work both shifts.
B. 
The number of election officials at the polling place will be no fewer than three at either shift. At the discretion of the Town Clerk, the requisite number of election officials may be increased for any given election. However, the number of election officials at any given election shall always be an odd number.
