[Adopted 8-23-1994 by L.L. No. 7-1994]
Chapter 602 of the Laws of 1993 repeals Title 3, Article 14, of the Real Property Tax Law so that the villages would no longer be permitted to collect delinquent real property taxes by holding tax lien sales. The Legislature has adopted legislation (S. 8560[A][1]) amending Section 6 of Chapter 602 of the Laws of 1993 to permit villages to collect delinquent real property taxes that shall become liens in 1995, 1996 and 1997 by utilizing the real property tax enforcement provisions of Title 3, Article 14, of the Real Property Tax Law, provided that the village adopts a local law to that effect by September 1, 1994. The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Floral Park finds that it is in the best interests of the village and its residents to continue collecting delinquent real property taxes by holding tax lien sales.
