The term "public record" as used in this chapter
is defined in N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.
Except as set forth in N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.,
all public records maintained in municipal offices in the Township
of Wall are available for inspection during the regular business hours
of the Township. All requests for public records shall be made through
the office of the Municipal Clerk on a form promulgated by the Township.
All requests for public records shall be as specific as possible.
A.Â
Photocopying. The fees charged for photocopies of
public records shall be as follows: $0.05 per page for 8Â 1/2
x 11; $0.07 per page for 8Â 1/2 x 14.

B.Â
Special services cost. If the inspection and/or photocopying
of public records requires more than 30 minutes per day of a municipal
employee's time, a special services charge equal to the "actual cost"
of that employee's time shall be charged. The requester shall be advised
of the hourly rate of the employee and estimated time anticipated
for the work. If the requester wishes to proceed with the production
of the records, he shall provide payment for the special services
fee prior to commencement of the work. The Township shall provide
a statement of the hours which were spent on the request. If the hours
are less than anticipated, the excess funds shall be returned to the
requester.

C.Â
Deposit. A fifty-percent deposit will be required
on all photocopy requests estimated by the Municipal Clerk to cost
$20 or more.

A.Â
The request for certified copies of all marriage or civil union certificates,
birth certificates, death certificates and domestic partnership certificates
shall be $20 per certificate. The fee for processing corrective form
REG. 34 in the following instances shall be $20: addition of father's
name as a result of paternity action; correction of false information
or incorrect information given on any government record. The fee of
$20 will be waived in cases where error was caused by a Registrar
of Vital Statistics.

The fee for certification for burial permits shall be set at $5 or
up to the limits established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:6-17.
C.Â
In cases where Wall Township's Mayor performs marriage, civil
union, or domestic partnership ceremonies for a Wall Township resident,
the fee of $20 shall be waived for the cost of the first copy of the
certificate.
