As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BURY
The placing of the body of a human being in a grave, overground vault, tomb or other receptacle for the dead.
No person shall bury any body of a human being in any place other than a registered burial ground without a permit from the Health Officer.
An offense against the provisions of this chapter shall constitute a violation under the Penal Law and shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
