§ 68-1 Purpose.

The office of Ordinance Enforcement Officer for the enforcement of the Ordinance Code provisions of the Charter Township of East China shall be established.

§ 68-2 Office established.

There is hereby established the office of Ordinance Enforcement Officer within the Charter Township of East China, St. Clair County, Michigan.

§ 68-3 Administrative procedures.

A. 
Appointments. The Township Board of the Charter Township of East China is hereby authorized, by resolution at any regular meeting of said Board, to appoint any person or persons to the office of Ordinance Enforcement Officer for such term or terms as may be designated in said resolution.
B. 
Removal. Said Board may further, by resolution, remove any person or persons from said office in the discretion of the Board.

§ 68-4 Authority.

A. 
Enforce all Ordinance Code provisions. The Ordinance Enforcement Officer is hereby authorized to enforce all Ordinance Code provisions of the Charter Township of East China, whether heretofore or hereafter enacted, and whether such Ordinance Code provisions specifically designate a different individual to enforce the same, or do not designate any particular enforcing officer.
B. 
Supplementary to others.
(1) 
Specific designated officers. Where a particular officer is so designated in any such Ordinance Code provision, the authority of the Ordinance Enforcement Officer to enforce the same shall be in addition to and supplementary to the authority granted to such other specific officer.
(2) 
Township Supervisor. The authority of such Ordinance Enforcement Officer shall also be in addition to and supplementary to the Ordinance Code provision enforcing authority vested in the Township Supervisor by state statute.
C. 
Authority of others not affected. The Ordinance Code provision enforcing authority of the Township Supervisor and the other officers specifically designated in any Township Ordinance Code chapter shall continue in full force and effect and shall in no way be diminished or impaired by the terms of this article.

§ 68-5 Duties.

The Ordinance Code provision enforcement duties herein authorized shall include, among others, the following:
A. 
Investigation of Ordinance Code provision violations;
B. 
Serving notice of violations;
C. 
Serving appearance tickets as authorized under Chapter IV of Public Act 175 of 1927, as amended;[1]

Appearance in court or other judicial proceedings to assist in the prosecution of Ordinance Code provision violators; and
E. 
Such other Ordinance Code provision enforcing duties as may be delegated by the Township Supervisor or assigned by the Township Attorney.
