The purpose of such code is:
A. 
For safeguarding life and property by regulating and providing for the inspection of the installation, alteration, repairing, servicing, and maintenance of plumbing equipment within the Charter Township of East China;
B. 
To provide for the licensing and registration of plumbing contractors; and
C. 
To provide for the administration and enforcement thereof.
Pursuant to the provisions of Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended,[1] the State of Michigan Plumbing Code is hereby adopted by reference as the Plumbing Code of the Charter Township of East China.

Printed copies of the State of Michigan Plumbing Code shall be kept in the Township Hall for public use, inspection, and distribution at cost.
The Charter Township of East China hereby assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the code within its boundary and may designate by resolution persons or agencies to administer and enforce the State of Michigan Plumbing Code on behalf of the Charter Township of East China.
