No person shall set any fire upon any land in the Town of Hudson, except for warming the person or cooking food, until the St. Croix County Dispatch has been called (715-386-4701) and given the resident's name, address, phone number and material to be burned.

Allowable material to be burned includes the following nonhazardous materials: brush, wood, nonchemically treated lumber, paper, leaves and corrugated cardboard. Any materials burned can only be materials generated on site. No materials are allowed to be brought in from other municipalities and burned in the Town of Hudson.

Any commercial burning shall require written permission from the Town Chairman, with the Town Board members to be notified, and any DNR permit that may be required.
When conditions are not favorable for burning, any Town Board member, the Hudson Fire Chief or Fire Inspector may call County Dispatch and inform them that burning is not permitted until further notice is given by the Town Board, Hudson Fire Chief or Fire Inspector.

A. 
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall pay a forfeiture payable to Clerk of Court of St. Croix County, plus court costs, and in addition shall be required to reimburse the Town of Hudson for any expense which it is required to pay because of fire calls caused by such fire.
B. 
Fire charges shall be as follows:

(1) 
Burning without a permit: $250 each offense.
(2) 
Burning during a burning ban: $500, each offense.
C. 
Penalties and/or forfeitures in this chapter are also covered in the Citation Ordinance.[1] If there is a conflict between this chapter and the Citation Ordinance, the Citation Ordinance has precedence.
