For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
JUVENILE
Individuals under the age of 18 years.
MOTORIZED SCOOTER
A long footboard between end wheels controlled by an upright steering handle attached to the front wheel and propelled with a liquid fuel motor.
MOTORIZED SKATEBOARD
A single platform mounted on wheels and propelled by a liquid fuel motor.
It shall be unlawful for any storekeeper or other person to encumber, obstruct or in any manner interfere with the free and uninterrupted use of the public streets and sidewalks of the Town of North Beach by leaving any goods, wares, merchandise or other articles or thing thereon except for loading or unloading or doing the erection or repair of a building.
It shall be unlawful for a person to operate, or cause to be operated, a motorized scooter or motorized skateboard on the streets, sidewalks, public parking lots or other public areas designated for motor vehicle uses within the Town of North Beach.
It shall be unlawful for a person to operate, or cause to be operated, motorized scooters and motorized skateboards upon any sidewalks of the Town of North Beach.
Violations of this article will be a municipal infraction punishable as provided Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III, Penalties. The above-listed motorized scooters and skateboards may be confiscated by the Town when the offender is a juvenile and may be released after the payment of the municipal infraction is received from the parent or guardian of the juvenile.
