When a new water supply system is contemplated to serve a proposed subdivision or other area within the Town, approval of such supply shall be obtained from the Water Resources Commission of the New York State Conservation Department and from the Water Supply Section of the New York State Department of Health and Orange County Health Department. Such approval shall cover the source of supply as well as the details of the water system installation. The plans shall also comply with all Town and New York State Department of Health regulations and Town Board approval of specifications.
The person proposing such water supply system shall, at the option of the Town, be required to form a water district and offer said utility to the Town.
The detail specifications which are a part of this chapter shall be followed as concerns the materials and method of installation of the water mains, house service, meters and all other parts of the system.
The size of the water mains and location of hydrants shall be such as to furnish adequate water supply and fire protection.
