Town of Stanley, VA Article III General Penalty

§ 1-16 General penalty; continuing violations.

A. Wherever in this Code or in any ordinance or resolution of the Town or in any rule, regulation, notice or order promulgated by any officer or agency of the Town under authority duly vested in him or it, any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or wherever in such Code, ordinance, resolution, rule, regulation, notice or order the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, where no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any such provision of this Code or any such ordinance, resolution, rule, regulation, notice or order shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment in jail not exceeding 12 months.

B. Each day any violation of this Code or of any such ordinance or resolution of the Town or such rule, regulation, notice or order shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
