It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of operating a motor vehicle for the transportation of passengers for hire without a Town license so to do or without having paid the Town license tax therefor as specified in Chapter 122, Licensing. Such licenses shall be issued by, and the annual tax thereon shall be paid to, the Town Treasurer.
Any license issued pursuant to § 194-1 may be revoked by the Town Council at an time for failure of the licensee to maintain adequate insurance coverage for each vehicle used in the licensee's business or for other good cause shown, after the licensee has been afforded an opportunity to be heard by the Town Council.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable under the provisions of § 1-16 of this Code.
