Peddling and soliciting — See Ch. 157.
No person, firm, partnership or organization, or its agents or employees, shall distribute or cause to be distributed or strewn about any street or public place any newspaper, paper, periodical, book, magazine, circular, poster, card, handbill or pamphlet.
No person, firm, partnership or corporation, or its agents or employees, shall distribute or cause to be distributed to the occupants of any house or dwelling place or cause to be placed in any areaway in front of or along the side of any house or dwelling, or upon the doorstep thereof, any newspaper, paper, periodical, book, magazine, circular, poster, card, handbill or pamphlet, unless the same has been previously ordered by the person in actual occupation of the house or dwelling in the area-way of which, in front of which or alongside of which or upon the doorstep of which said newspaper, paper, periodical, book, magazine, circular, poster, card and bill or pamphlet shall be distributed or placed.

Any person, firm, partnership or corporation, its agents or servants, violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 and imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days for each offense.
