[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Dover 4-9-1996 as Ord. No. 13-1996. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby created a Public Employee's Awards Committee. This Committee shall be composed of five members who shall be officers, employees and/or members of the governing body, who shall be nominated by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Alden. No two of such officers or employees shall be employed in the same department of the local unit.
Of the members first appointed to the Public Employee Awards Committee, two shall be appointed for terms of three years, two for two years and one for one year. Thereafter appointments shall be made for the terms of three years.
A. 
Members shall serve for the terms for which they are appointed and qualified. Vacancies occurring by reason other than the expiration of a term shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as provided in § 16-1 of this chapter.
B. 
Members shall serve without compensation.
The Committee shall hold regular meetings at least once a month during the year with the exception of July and August. The meeting shall be at the call of the Chairman of the Committee after regular business hours.
A. 
The Committee shall be responsible for the formulation of programs and shall have the power to adopt and promulgate rules and regulations for the conduct and operation of the awards program.
B. 
The committee shall make an annual report to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen concerning the operations of the program.
