As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
GARAGE SALE
Includes but shall not be limited to the sale of merchandise to the
public in residential zones, which merchandise is on display anywhere in or
upon said residential premises.
No garage sale shall be held or conducted without first obtaining a
permit for same from the Borough Clerk's office. A fee of $10 shall be charged
for each permit issued.
No more than two permits shall be issued per premises per year.
Each permit shall be issued for no more than three days.
Hours of operation for a garage sale shall begin no earlier than 9:00
a.m. and shall end no later than 6:00 p.m.
A permit may be extended by the Borough Clerk's office in the case of
rain.
A. In the event of violation of this chapter, to wit, the
conducting of a garage sale without a permit, the enforcing agency shall issue
a written warning for the first offense.
B. Thereafter, subsequent offenses shall be treated according
to general penalty sections.
