A.Â
The connection or installation of a garbage disposal unit attached
to sewer waste lines leading to the municipal sanitary sewer system
is permitted in residential dwellings.
B.Â
This section shall not permit connection or installation of a garbage
disposal unit where a condominium board, association, or similar organization
has prohibited connection or installation.
The connection or installation of a garbage disposal unit attached
to sewer waste lines leading to the municipal sanitary sewer system
is prohibited in commercial and industrial structures.
Notwithstanding the provisions of this article, in the event
that installation of any individual or collective garbage disposal
unit or units causes repeated sewer blockages, the Construction Official
may order removal of the unit or units from an area to lessen said
sewer blockages. This section shall apply to all garbage disposal
units, regardless of their date of installation.
Any person who installs, connects or uses a garbage disposal
unit that was either installed or connected to sewer waste lines leading
to the municipal sanitary sewer system in violation of this article
is subject to punishment.
This article does not prohibit the continued use of any garbage
disposal unit presently installed and in use in the Borough.
