A.
No person shall, within the limits of the Borough of
Gibbsboro, discharge any firearm of any nature; provided, however, that nothing
herein contained shall be taken to prohibit the proper use of firearms upon
a National Rifle Association or National Skeet Shooting Association approved
target range or at the Square Circle Club or by the Borough police in the
discharge of their duties or as provided under the New Jersey hunting statutes,
and regulations thereunder.
B.
FIREARMS
As used in this section, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
Any handgun, rifle, shotgun, machine gun, automatic or semiautomatic
rifle or any gun, device or instrument in the nature of a weapon,
from which may be fired or ejected any solid projectable ball, slug, pellet,
missile or bullet or any gas, vapor or other noxious thing by means of a cartridge
or shell or by the action of an explosive or the igniting of flammable or
explosive substances. It shall also include, without limitation, any firearm.[1]
Hunting of any type within the jurisdictional limits of the Borough
of Gibbsboro is hereby prohibited, except as provided under the New Jersey
hunting statutes, and regulations thereunder. The New Jersey hunting laws
regulating the proximity of hunting to any residential home, commonly known
as "safety zones," are incorporated in this chapter and made a part hereof,
so that any violation of said hunting laws shall be a violation of this chapter.
Also, any violation of the New Jersey hunting laws regulating the transportation
of any weapons or the unlawful carrying of a loaded weapon while not hunting
shall be deemed a violation of this chapter.
