The position of Municipal Prosecutor is hereby created and the Municipal Prosecutor shall be appointed by the Township Committee and shall serve for a term of one year from the date of appointment and until a successor is appointed and qualified.
The Municipal Prosecutor shall be an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey duly licensed to practice before the courts of New Jersey and in good standing before those courts. In addition thereto, the Municipal Prosecutor shall have practice experience before the municipal courts of the State of New Jersey, either in defense or prosecution.
The Municipal Prosecutor shall prosecute all matters on behalf of the state, municipality or complaining party (as may be assigned by the Municipal Court Judge) and in all matters on the docket before the Kingwood Township Municipal Court, with the exception of those matters (Code and zoning violations) prosecuted by the Township Attorney.
The Municipal Prosecutor shall receive an annual salary, to be paid in the same manner as the salaries of other municipal employees and officials are paid.
