The Township Committee shall authorize, in its
sole discretion, either itself or one or more of its members or a
special Municipal Hearing Officer to hear cases of employee discipline.
The compensation to be paid to such special
Hearing Officer, if appointed, shall be established by a professional
services resolution at a rate to be set by the Township Committee.
If appointed, the Hearing Officer shall report
his findings of fact and recommended disposition of the case, including
penalty, if any, as a recommendation only to the Township Committee
within the time prescribed by law for each case.
