It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to leave or permit to remain outside of any dwelling, building or other structure or within any unoccupied or abandoned building, dwelling or other structure under his or its control in a place accessible to children any abandoned or unattended icebox, refrigerator or other container, whether the same is abandoned or discarded or not, which has an airtight door or lid, snaplock or other locking device which may not be released from the inside, without either first removing said door or lid, snaplock or other locking device from said icebox, refrigerator or container or, in the alternative, properly guarding or locking the same in such a manner that the same cannot be accessible to children or opened except by the person authorized to guard or open the same.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by being fined in any sum not exceeding $50 or may be imprisoned for a period not to exceed five days, or both, in the discretion of the Judge of the Municipal Court of the Township of Manalapan.
