City of Franklin, NH Article II Traffic Signs and Controls

[Adopted 5-5-1986 as Title Two, Ch. V of the 1986 Code; amended in its entirety 9-14-1998 by Ord. No. 98-4]

§ 284-21 System of signs established.

In accordance with the laws of the State of New Hampshire, the City of Franklin hereby establishes a system of traffic and parking control signs. Such signs shall be in the following categories: stop signs, yield signs, limited parking signs and one-way street signs.

§ 284-22 Stop signs.

No vehicle shall enter any controlled intersection which requires the passage of a standard stop sign without coming to a full and complete stop as required by such signs. The Municipal Services Department is hereby empowered to establish stop signs as listed below.

§ 284-23 Yield signs.

Any vehicle entering an intersection controlled by a yield sign shall give the right-of-way to any other vehicle approaching, entering or within such intersection. The Municipal Services Department is hereby authorized to establish yield signs as designated at intersections listed below.

§ 284-24 Limited parking; no-parking areas.

No vehicle shall be allowed to remain parked or standing in the areas designated in this section as areas of reserved and limited parking except as may be allowed by signs posted at the locations listed. The Municipal Services Department is hereby authorized to place appropriate parking control signs at the areas so designated.

A. Two-hour parking. No automobile or other vehicle shall be parked or left on the following designated streets for more than two hours at any time between the following hours:

§ 284-25 One-way streets and no thru-trucking.

No vehicle shall travel in contravention of the direction designated at Subsection A below for one-way streets within the City of Franklin. The Municipal Services Department is authorized to post appropriate traffic directional signs in accordance with that subsection. Additionally, no truck-style vehicle, other than standard body pickup-style trucks, shall use any of the streets designated as no thru-trucking routes at Subsection B below for purposes of completely traveling any streets or roads so listed.
