The Borough of Haledon shall promptly, after
February 1 annually or biennially, cause a canvass to be made of all
dogs and cats and shall cause to report the results thereof to be
filed with the Borough Clerk.
The Chief of Police of the Borough of Haledon
shall cause the provisions of this article to be enforced.
It shall be the duty of every police officer
to notify the Dog Warden of the Borough of Haledon to apprehend any
dog found running at large and to impound such dog in a suitable place.
A.
Anything in this section to the contrary notwithstanding,
no dog shall be allowed in any place at any time where food is manufactured,
prepared, handled, stored or sold, except Seeing Eye Dogs, dogs used
to assist handicapped persons and commonly known as "service dogs"
and dogs used to assist deaf persons and commonly known as "hearing
ear" dogs.[1]
B.
Any food intended for consumption by a dog placed
in any location out-of-doors, shall be removed by the person or persons
placing such food not later than two hours after such placements and
in no event 30 minutes after sunset and before sunrise.
