In view of the fact that cigarette vending machines cannot discriminate between persons eligible to purchase cigarettes and those that are ineligible, all automatic vending machines are hereby prohibited in the Borough of Haledon except at establishments that sell alcoholic beverages.
Any person owning, operating, renting or permitting the use of a cigarette vending machine on premises under his or her control shall be subject to a fine of $250. Each day on which such machine is owned, operated or rented or permitted on the premises shall result in an additional fine.[1]
