[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Hanover 6-22-1989 by Ord. No. 20-89. Amendments noted where applicable.]
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
AUTOWRECKING
Any person or persons or entity which collects vehicles for the purposes of either salvaging parts for resale, or indeed, preparing the vehicles for ultimate disposition as scrap metal.
Any person operating an autowrecking operation within the Township of Hanover shall obtain, on an annual basis, an autowrecking license, the fee for which shall be as provided in Chapter 125, Fees, of the Code of the Township of Hanover and a late fee as provided in Chapter 125, Fees, of the Code of the Township of Hanover, per applicant. The required applications shall be filed not later than December 15 of each year, for the subsequent year's license.
In the event of a change in ownership of any autowreckng operation within the Township, a license or renewal shall not be issued unless a certificate of occupancy or certificate of continued occupancy shall first have been issued by the Zoning Officer if the issuance of either certificate is deemed applicable in accordance with provisions of the Township's Land Use and Development Legislation.[1]

Enforcement of this chapter shall be made by the Township Clerk with the assistance of the Building Department and Zoning Officer.

Any violation of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of $1,000 and/or imprisonment for 90 days, or both.
