[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Council of the Township of Jefferson 12-18-1996 by Ord. No. 22-96 (Ch. 36 of the 1967 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]

The Board shall consist of nine citizen members to be appointed by the Mayor who shall be either residents of the Township, own or operate a business within the Township of Jefferson or employed in a business located in the Township of Jefferson. In addition, the Township Planner, the Mayor, the Administrator and two Council representatives, appointed by the Council, shall be members of the Board. The terms of the citizen members shall be three years each, except that the terms of not more than three members shall expire in any one year. The noncitizen members shall serve during the term of their office, except that the Council members shall serve for a period of one year as appointed by the Council.

The Economic Advisory Board shall make recommendations to the Mayor, Council and Land Use Board as to how to induce additional rateables into the Township so as to reduce taxes and increase the tax base of the Township.
It is the purpose of the Economic Advisory Board to promote industrial and commercial development within proper areas of the Township for the well-being of the citizens of the Township.

The Economic Advisory Board shall meet at least four times per year at the Township Municipal Building. All meetings shall be open to the public. The Board shall file quarterly reports with the Mayor and Council as to its progress and recommendations. It may file additional reports as it deems necessary.
