There is hereby created the position of Assistant Municipal Treasurer.
A. 
The Assistant Municipal Treasurer shall assist the Chief Financial Officer in supervising and performing the work involved in the disbursement, accounting and auditing of funds received and disbursed by the Township, as well as the negotiation of loans and sale of bonds for the Township. The Assistant Municipal Treasurer shall also perform all related work as required by the Chief Financial Officer.
B. 
To be appointed to the position of Assistant Municipal Treasurer, an individual must meet the following requirements:
(1) 
Graduation from a four-year course at an accredited college or university with 21 semester hour credits in professional accounting subjects. Possession of a valid certification as a municipal finance officer issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services may be substituted for the educational requirements.
(2) 
Four years of varied supervisory accounting experience and work involving the installation, operation and keeping of large-scale systems of accounts, one year of which shall have been in municipal accounting or auditing.
(3) 
Thorough knowledge of the principals, methods and procedures used in modern accounting and auditing, of the laws, rules and regulations governing the installation, operation and keeping of accounts and their application to specific situations, and of the preparation of involved and detailed accounting and other financial reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
(4) 
Ability to analyze complex financial problems, to give suitable assignments and instructions, to prepare suitable reports, and to direct the establishment and maintenance of extensive financial and related records and files.
The salary for the position of Assistant Municipal Treasurer shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Little Egg Harbor.
