There is hereby created the position of Tax
Collector for the Township of Little Egg Harbor pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:9-141.
A.
The Tax Collector shall plan, organize, manage and
coordinate the various activities of the office in accordance with
state and local laws, rules, regulations and policies, and perform
such functions as may be required by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-141. The Tax Collector
shall also perform other related work as required.
B.
To be appointed to the position of Tax Collector,
an individual must possess a tax collector certificate pursuant to
N.J.S.A. 40A:9-145.7.
The Tax Collector shall be appointed by the
Township Committee and shall serve for a term of four years, commencing
on January 1 of the year of appointment and ending on December 31
of the fourth year, or until a successor shall be appointed and qualified.
A vacancy in the office of Tax Collector, other than due to expiration
of term, shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term.
