There is hereby created the position of Confidential Secretary. There shall be a Confidential Secretary to the Mayor and Township Committee, and a Confidential Secretary to the Township Administrator.
A. 
The duties of the Confidential Secretary to the Mayor and Township Committee, under direction, shall include, but not be limited to:
(1) 
To perform all those secretarial and clerical duties of a varied nature and related work as directed by the Mayor and Township Committee.
(2) 
To perform those clerical duties assigned to him or her by the Mayor and Township Committee concerning the preparation of the budget.
(3) 
To perform those clerical duties directed by the Mayor and Township Committee in processing disciplinary and/or grievance matters.
(4) 
To perform whatever clerical duties are necessary pertaining to matters of a confidential nature between the Mayor and Township Committee and any other elected officials, appointed officers or employees.
(5) 
To perform any other related work as directed by the Mayor and Township Committee.
B. 
To be appointed to the position of Confidential Secretary to the Mayor and Township Committee, an individual must meet the following requirements:
(1) 
Possess some knowledge of modern office methods, practices and equipment, of performing routine, repetitive and noncomplex typing work from varied types of copy and of taking and transcribing dictation of limited complexity.
(2) 
Possess the ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written directions.
(3) 
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
(4) 
Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
C. 
The Confidential Secretary to the Mayor and Township Committee shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Township Committee.
