The Attorney for the Board of Health shall attend the meetings of the Township Board of Health to provide professional, legal advice as needed; prepare all notices, contracts, resolutions, ordinances, and other documents as required; interpret and advise the Board of Health concerning its legal responsibilities under the laws of the United States, the State of New Jersey, and Little Egg Harbor Township; send correspondence or make contacts as directed by the Board of Health; conduct such litigation as may be necessary; and perform such other professional services consistent with the position and as directed by the Board of Health.
The Attorney for the Board shall work such hours as are necessary to perform the foregoing services.
The Attorney for the Board shall be compensated per meeting of the Board of Health, which amount shall be set by the Board at its first meeting of each year and be effective as of the first day of that year. In addition, the Attorney for the Board shall be compensated at an hourly rate to be set by the Board at its first meeting for legal services performed, which rate shall be effective as of the first day of that year. The Attorney for the Board of Health shall be required to periodically submit vouchers for approval by the Board of Health detailing the services performed.
