GENERAL REFERENCES

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TRAILER
Any vehicle or structure which is or may be mounted on wheels, having no motive power of its own, and capable for use as a conveyance upon streets or highways.
A. 
No person shall park or store any trailer or boat in the open on any street, highway or other public place within the Township, or on any lot or tract of land therein, whether occupied or unoccupied, except that no more than one trailer and one boat (a trailer or boat) may, where feasible, be parked or stored by the owner thereof behind his dwelling house in that 1/2 of the rear yard closest to such dwelling and then only in such fashion that no part of such trailer or boat shall project beyond the outside walls of the dwelling nor above the highest point of the lowest roof thereof. No trailer may exceed 25 feet in length.
B. 
No trailer or boat while stored or parked as permitted by Subsection A of this section shall be occupied or used for dwelling purposes.
Emergency or temporary parking or stopping of a trailer or trailed boat is permitted on any street or highway within the Township for not longer than one hour, subject, however, to any other and further prohibitions or limitations imposed by the traffic and parking regulations for that street or highway.[1]

Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding, a trailer may be temporarily parked or stored in the open in connection with:
A. 
A public health program sponsored by the Division of Health of the Township or other public health agency;
B. 
A program sponsored by any public board or agency of the Township or its Board of Education;
C. 
A public or private construction project; or
D. 
A carnival or other affair or function authorized by the Council.
Unless another penalty is expressly provided herein, any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500, or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days, or both. A separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
