As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
GASOLINE SERVICE STATION
Any building, structure, place or location designed primarily to supply motor vehicles with gasoline, oil, grease and supplies and for the inspection, examination and repair thereof and maintaining gasoline pumps and oil pumps for the purpose of selling gasoline and oil.
STORES
Includes any and all business establishments which may sell supplies, food or merchandise, whether wholesale or retail.
All gasoline service stations and stores in the Borough of Longport shall cease and desist from all business operations whatsoever involving the sale of any and all goods, merchandise or services of any nature or description beginning at the hour of 12:00 midnight until 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, prevailing time.
The gas station operator, owner, manager or business entity shall not park any automobile, truck or any other motor vehicle on the sidewalks or public streets of the Borough of Longport pursuant to the operation of the gasoline station and repair or maintenance business.
There shall be no storage of any automobiles, trucks or other motor vehicles on the public streets by the owner, operator, manager, business entity or patron pursuant to the operation of a station or repair service station therein.
This chapter specifically excludes restaurants that may serve alcoholic beverages on the premises, as such establishments are governed by other rules, regulations and laws.
It shall therefore be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to conduct a business of a store or gasoline service station in the Borough of Longport between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, prevailing time.
Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 60 days, or both.
