A.
In accordance with the statutory provisions of N.J.S.A.
40:67-16.1, all trucks having a total combined gross weight of vehicle
plus load in excess of four tons shall be excluded from all streets
within the Borough of Longport except for Ventnor Avenue, Atlantic
Avenue, and 29th Avenue between Atlantic and Ventnor Avenues. Nothing
in this section shall be construed to prevent such trucks from making
deliveries of merchandise or other such property along streets from
which such trucks are excluded or to authorize the exclusion from
any street in the Borough of Longport of trucks used by recognized
New Jersey public utility companies in connection with the construction,
installation, operation, or maintenance of such public utility functions.
Any trucks making deliveries must utilize the closest connection to
either Atlantic Avenue or Ventnor Avenue after making said deliveries.
B.
All buses having a gross vehicle weight in excess
of 24,580 pounds shall be excluded from all streets within the Borough
of Longport except Ventnor Avenue, Atlantic Avenue from 15th Avenue
to 29th Avenue, and 29th Avenue from Atlantic Avenue to Ventnor Avenue.
C.
No truck
or other vehicle making deliveries in the Borough, including, but
not limited to, vehicles making deliveries of articles to be transferred
onto any other vehicle; may not drop or transfer freight or other
items on any public right-of-way. The Police Chief upon request may,
in his sole discretion, provide an exemption to this provision if
warranted.
