There shall be an officer of said Borough of Middlesex appointed annually who shall be known as the Assistant to the Collector of Taxes and Treasurer of said Borough, whose duties shall be to assist the Borough Collector and Treasurer of said Borough as he may direct from time to time in the discharge and performance of such duties as are imposed upon him by statute.
The salary of the Assistant to the Collector of Taxes and Treasurer shall be and is hereby fixed at the sum of $1,000 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments.
