A Municipal Court in and for said Township of Moorestown is hereby established as of the first day of January, 1949, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948 of the State of New Jersey, as amended and supplemented.[1]

The name of said Municipal Court shall be "Municipal Court of the Township of Moorestown in the County of Burlington."
Said Municipal Court shall have an Official Seal, which shall bear the impress of the name of said Court.

There shall be a Judge of the Municipal Court who shall be appointed by the Township Council and whose term of office should be for three years from the date of his appointment and who shall continue to serve until his successor shall have been appointed and qualified. Said Judge shall receive such annual compensation as shall be fixed by ordinance, which salary shall be in lieu of any fees, costs or other allowances.

There shall be a Court Administrator who shall be appointed by the Township Manager and whose initial appointment shall be confirmed by the Township Council and whose term of office shall be as provided by law. The Court Administrator shall receive a salary as shall be fixed by ordinance, which salary shall be in lieu of any fees, costs or other allowances.

Said Municipal Court, Judge of the Municipal Court and Court Administrator shall have, possess and exercise all the functions, powers, duties and jurisdiction conferred by the provisions of Chapter 264 of the Laws of 1948 of the State of New Jersey, as amended and supplemented, and by any other law or laws of said state now in force or that may be enacted hereafter.[1]

Said Municipal Court shall be located at Town Hall or at such place within said Township of Moorestown as shall be designated by the Township Council.
