Hereafter each and every person owning, harboring, keeping or having charge of any male or female dog shall:
A. 
Prevent such dog from running at large upon any public highway, street, alley, park or other public place in the Township at any time.
B. 
Prevent such dog from being on any public highway, street, avenue, park or other public place in the Township at any time unless such dog is securely confined and controlled by an adequate leash not more than six feet in length in the hands of a person or persons capable of leading and controlling such dog.

C. 
Prevent such dog from running at large in the Township upon the lands or other real estate of any person without the consent of the owner of such lands or other real estate.
D. 
Prevent such dog from injuring or damaging property of any person other than the person owning harboring, keeping or having charge of such dog.

E. 
Prevent such dog from wounding, killing or exhibiting otherwise violent behavior towards any person or domestic animal other than the person owning, harboring, keeping or having charge of such dog.

F. 
Not cause, suffer, permit or allow such dog to soil, defile, defecate on or commit any nuisance on any common thoroughfare, street, sidewalk, passageway, road, bypass, play area, park or any place where people congregate or walk, or upon any public property whatsoever, or upon any private property without the permission of the owner of the private property in the last instance. If any such person shall permit such dog to soil, defile, defecate on or commit any nuisance on the areas aforesaid, he or she shall immediately remove and dispose of all feces and droppings deposited by such dog, which removal shall be in a sanitary manner by a shovel, container, disposal bag, etc.

Hunting dogs while hunting under the control of their owners or custodians, and dogs being trained for hunting by their owners or custodians, shall not be deemed to be at large or running at large within the meaning and operation of this article.

A. 
Any male or female dog that shall be found running at large on any public highway, street, avenue, alley, park or other public place in the Township shall forthwith be taken and impounded by the Dog Warden of the Township and shall be kept and destroyed or otherwise disposed of according to law; provided, however, that within said period of seven days, the Dog Warden of the Township shall release such dog to the owner thereof upon claim therefor and upon payment to the Dog Warden for the expense of keeping such dog while impounded, at the rate prescribed by the Dog Warden.
B. 
The Dog Warden shall report on a monthly basis to the office of the Animal Registrar all dogs taken by him and the place where said dog was taken into his custody and the registration tag number on said dog.

Any person who shall violate any of the terms or provisions of this article or do any act or thing therein prohibited, or neglect, fail or refuse to do any act or thing therein required to be done, shall, upon conviction thereof before the Municipal Judge, forfeit and pay such fine not exceeding the sum of $1,000 or be imprisoned in the Township jail or county jail for such term not exceeding 30 days as the Municipal Judge, in his discretion, shall determine; provided, however, that the Municipal Judge shall have power, in his discretion, to impose sentence of both fine and imprisonment not exceeding the maximum limits herein fixed.
