A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Borough Manager of the Borough of Bridgeport, being marked and designated as the "NFPA 101, Code for Safety to Life from Fire in Buildings and Structures, 1994 Edition" (hereinafter the "Life Safety Code"), published by the National Fire Protection Association, is hereby adopted in and for the Borough of Bridgeport, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for the control of certain buildings and structures or parts of both, as herein provided, and each and all of the regulations, provisions and penalties, conditions and terms of the said Life Safety Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this article with the additions, deletions or changes, if any, prescribed in § 275-13 of this article.
A. 
Deletions.
(1) 
It is the intention of the Borough of Bridgeport that the Life Safety Code apply only to the following structures and buildings, as defined in the Life Safety Code: New and Existing Assembly Occupancies (Chapters 8 and 9); New and Existing Educational Occupancies (Chapters 10 and 11); New and Existing Health Care Occupancies (Chapters 12 and 13); New and Existing Hotels and Dormitory Occupancies (Chapters 16 and 17); New and Existing Apartment Buildings (Chapters 18 and 19); New and Existing Mercantile Occupancies (Chapters 24 and 25); New and Existing Business Occupancies (Chapters 26 and 27); Industrial Occupancies (Chapter 28); and Storage Occupancies (Chapter 29).
(2) 
The following chapters are deleted:
(a) 
Chapter 14, New Detention and Correctional Facilities.
(b) 
Chapter 15, Existing Detention and Correctional Facilities.
(c) 
Chapter 20, Lodging and Rooming Houses.
(d) 
Chapter 21, One- and Two-Family Dwellings.
(e) 
Chapter 22, New Residential Board and Care Occupancies.
(f) 
Chapter 23, Existing Residential Board and Care Occupancies.
(g) 
Chapter 30, Special Structures and High-Rise Buildings.
Nothing contained herein or in the Life Safety Code adopted hereby shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding pending in any court or any rights acquired or liabilities incurred or any causes or causes of actions acquired or existing, nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this article.
