Pursuant to Section A of the State Construction Code Act, Public Act 230 of 1972, MCLA § 125.1501 et seq., MSA 5.2949(a), the Michigan Department of Labor Mechanical Code Rules, as published by the Michigan Department of Labor and filed with the Secretary of State on August 21, 1995, is hereby adopted by reference, including all references therein printed, and those documents, together with provisions of this article, shall be known as the “Building Code of the Village of New Haven.”[1]

References in the Michigan Department of Labor Mechanical Code Rules to “municipality” and “name of municipality” shall mean the Village of New Haven, Macomb County, Michigan.
Notice is hereby given that a copy of the Michigan Department of Labor Mechanical Code Rules as referred to in § 345-1 of this article is available for public use and inspection at the office of the Clerk of the Village of New Haven.

Any person who shall violate a provision of the code herein adopted or who shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof, or who shall erect, construct, alter, or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan, or direction of the building official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be subject to the penalties set forth in Chapter 59, Municipal Civil Infractions, of the Code of the Village of New Haven. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Michigan Mechanical Code, in accordance with Section 8b(6) of Act 230, of the Public Acts of 1972,[1] as amended, the Mechanical Official of the Village of New Haven is hereby designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibility of the Village of New Haven under Act 230, of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, State of Michigan. The Village of New Haven assumes responsibility for the administration and enforcement of said Act throughout its corporate limits.
