Editor's Note: This local law was subject
to permissive referendum, and no valid petition requesting such referendum
was filed.
The Village of Carthage shall hereby cease to
be an assessing unit, and hereafter Village taxes shall be levied
in accordance with the Town of Wilna assessment roll.
The position of Assessor in the Village of Carthage
is hereby abolished.
On or after the effective date of this article,
taxes in the Village of Carthage shall be levied on a copy of the
applicable part of the assessment roll of the Town of Wilna with the
taxable status day of such town controlling for Village purposes.
Within five days of the effective date of this
article, the Board of Trustees of the Village of Carthage shall file
a copy of such local law with the Clerk and Board of Assessors of
the Town of Wilna and with the State Board of Equalization and Assessment.
