The Village of Carthage shall contain, on and after the effective date
of this section, in addition to the territory theretofore contained within
its boundaries, the following described territory:
A.Â
All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town
of Wilna, County of Jefferson and State of New York, bounded and described
as follows: beginning at a point on the most northerly margin of South Washington
Street, said point marked by an iron pipe and being the most southeasterly
corner of a parcel of land conveyed by James Whaling to the Town of Wilna
Housing Authority and designated a Parcel No. 15 on maps of said Housing Authority;
running along said northerly margin S 71° 30' E 60 feet to a point,
situate in the northerly eastern margin of Oxford Street N 23° 00'
E 192 feet to a point, the northwesterly corner of a parcel of land containing
2.62 acres as conveyed by George Buck to the Village of Carthage (Liber 425
Deeds, page 254); running thence along the most northerly line of said 2.62
acre parcel N 83° 15' E 270.5 feet to a point, the most northeasterly
corner of said 2.62 acre parcel; running thence along said easterly line thereof
S 5° 00' W 54 feet to a point; running thence 5° 00' E 649
feet to a point; running thence N 5° 00' E 610 feet to a point; running
thence N 86° 30' W 1443.42 feet to a point; running thence S 6°
30' W 207.24 feet to a point; running thence S 6° 30' W 207.24
feet to a point; running thence S 70° 00' E 159.06 feet to a point;
running thence S 2° 53' W 60 feet to a point; running thence S 78°
30' E 406.8 feet to a point; running thence along the most easterly line
of the aforesaid Parcel No. 15 S 2° 50' W 498.1 feet to the place
of beginning, containing 19.17 acres of land, be the same more or less.

All that tract or parcel of land situate in the Town
of Wilna, County of Jefferson and State of New York, bounded and described
as follows: beginning at a point in the most northerly margin of South Washington
Street, said point being situate in the most easterly margin of Oxford Street;
running thence along a continuation of said easterly margin of Oxford Street
N 23° 00' E 375.54 feet to a point; running thence S 67° 00'
E 227.04 feet to a point; running thence S 6° 10' W 132 feet to a
point; running thence S 83° 10' E 672 feet to a point; running thence
S 6° 30' W 810 feet to a point; thence running N 82° 30'
W 285 feet to a point; running thence N 56° 00' W 390 feet to a point;
running thence N 3° 30' W 240 feet to a point; situate in the most
southerly line of a parcel of land containing 4.36 acres owned by the Carthage
Arms; running thence N 73° 00' W 365 feet to a point situate on the
most easterly margin of Oxford Street; running thence along said easterly
margin N 23° 00' E 66.6 feet to a most northwesterly corner of land
of aforesaid Carthage Arms; running thence along said easterly margin of Oxford
Street N 23° 00' E 110 feet to the place of beginning, containing
10.9 acres of land, be the same more or less. Excepting and reserving therefrom
a parcel of land containing 4.36 acres as conveyed to the Carthage Arms and
which said parcel has been previously annexed by the Village of Carthage,
said parcel being bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a point in
the most easterly margin of Oxford Street and being the most southwesterly
corner of land conveyed by the Village of Carthage to James Whaling; thence
running along said easterly margin N 23° 00' E 66.32 feet to a point;
running thence S 67° 00' E 20.60 feet to a point; thence curving
to the left with a radius of 50 feet a distance of 52.36 feet to a point;
thence running N 53° 00' E 316.86 feet to a point; running thence
S 37° 00' E 60 feet to a point; running thence S 79° 00'
E 195 feet to a point; thence running S 39° 17' E 77 feet to a point,
running thence S 67° 30' E 123.54 feet to a point; running thence
S 22° 30' W 66.25 feet to a point; running thence S 39° 07'
E 27 feet to a point; running thence S 25° 45' N 212 feet to a point;
running thence N 82° 27' W 297.80 feet to a point; thence N 5°
48' E 60 feet to a point; running thence N 71° 30' W 365.50
feet to the place of beginning, containing 4.36 acres of land more or less.
The territory described in § A149-6 of this Act is hereby annexed to the Village of Carthage pursuant to the provisions of § 714 of the General Municipal Law.
The territory described in § A149-6 of this Act and annexed to the Village of Carthage by this Act shall be included in Election District No. 2 of the said Village.
The annexation of the above territory described in § A149-6 of this Act shall become effective on the 15th day of February 1985.
The act shall take effect immediately.
