Owners of all unnumbered buildings and residences
in Hatfield Township shall procure a street number from the Code Official
of Hatfield Township.
A.
Residential. The numbers shall be placed in a conspicuous
place on, over or near the front door or on a mail box located near
the street in front of the house or building. The numbers shall be
at least 2 1/2 inches in height, the color of the numbers shall
be in contrast with the immediate background and the placement of
the numbers shall be in full view. No person shall cover any house
or building number with anything whatsoever or conceal it in any way
and all old numbers shall be removed from any house, building or structure
when a new number has been assigned and when so directed by the Township
Code Official.

B.
Nonresidential. The street number shall be displayed
as an integral part of the property's freestanding street sign, utilizing
a minimum of 72 square inches of the area of such sign with numerals
not less than six inches in height.

A subdivider, land developer or builder shall
submit a street numbering plan, prepared in accordance with the official
Township street numbering plan, to the Township Code Official for
approval thereof at the time a building permit application is made.
When approved, street numbers shall be assigned and shall be erected
by the subdivider, land developer or builder in the same manner as
provided in this chapter for others within the Township. Street numbers
must be posted prior to occupancy of any dwelling or other building.

No person shall number or attempt to number
any house or building contrary to this chapter and the plan hereby
approved and adopted; fail or neglect to number a house or building
in accordance herewith; or fail to change the number thereon after
notification by the Township Code Official. No person shall alter,
deface, remove or destroy any number required to be displayed under
this chapter.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Any Township personnel responsible for reviewing plans, performing
inspections or enforcing the codes, ordinances, resolutions or any
other legislation enacted or adopted by Hatfield Township.
Any person who shall violate any provision of
this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a
fine not exceeding $600 and costs and, in default of payment of said
fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each
day that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute a
separate offense.
