All private driveways hereafter constructed, enlarged or altered shall conform to the design and construction standards found in Chapter 250, Subdivision and Land Development.

A. 
Before any private driveway may be constructed, enlarged or altered a permit shall be obtained from the Township.
B. 
Exception. The provisions of this § 127-2 shall not apply under the following conditions:
(1) 
The work is performed by the property owner.
(2) 
The work involves no activity within the Hatfield Township ultimate right-of-way.
(3) 
The work does not involve the use of rubber tired equipment, track equipment or mechanical rollers.
The fee for a driveway permit shall be fixed pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Commissioners.
All sidewalks, aprons, curbs, curb depressions, paving and other public improvements shall be protected from damage at all times during construction. Any damage to public improvements shall be repaired by the contractor at his expense.
A representative of the Public Works Department or the Building Department shall be notified at least 24 hours prior to start of construction and shall be present at the commencement of the work. In addition, a Township representative shall be notified when work is complete so a final inspection can be performed.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall fail to obtain a permit or otherwise fail to abide by the requirements of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600 and costs and, in default of payment thereof, to imprisonment for a term not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute a separate offense.
